Fighting for an
Affordable Tennessee
Tennessee is growing, but too many families aren’t feeling the benefits. Rising housing costs, healthcare expenses, and the everyday price of groceries and childcare are putting real pressure on working people. Ronnie Glynn believes Tennessee should be a place where hard work leads to stability, opportunity, and security for families.
As a business owner, Ronnie has seen firsthand how skyrocketing prices affect families and small businesses. In the legislature, he has supported measures to give working families a break, including a 90-day suspension of the gas tax and efforts to eliminate Tennessee’s grocery tax permanently. He has also opposed the Governor’s $1.8 billion corporate handout to out-of-state businesses, standing up for small Tennessee businesses – because tax breaks must always be coupled with accountability.
Ronnie champions policies to expand attainable housing, helping more families achieve homeownership and build wealth in their communities. He is also fighting to protect seniors on fixed incomes, advocating for circuit-breaker tax breaks on property taxes and utility bills so they can age in place with dignity.
Because Tennessee’s growth should lift up the families who live here – not just those at the top.
Healthcare
Ronnie Glynn benefited from universal healthcare while serving our country and knows first-hand how lifesaving access to coverage and preventative care can be. That’s why he fights to expand and fully fund Medicaid in Tennessee and invest in healthcare and first-responder services so every Tennessean can count on quality care close to home.
Everyone deserves access to affordable, comprehensive healthcare. Women should be trusted to make the decisions that are best for their own lives, without interference from politicians. Ronnie works to protect access to doctors, hospitals, and mental health services, opposing efforts to roll back coverage or limit care.
Making sure families in Clarksville can see a doctor when they need one has been a top priority for Ronnie. He proudly supported the opening of the new Ascension St. Thomas specialty care center, giving more neighbors access to high-quality care close to home. He will continue building on this progress so every Clarksvillian can count on dependable healthcare when it matters most.
Infrastructure
Our state and Clarksville specifically are growing at a rapid rate, but our state is failing to handle the increased demands from the increased population. Our roads and schools are getting squeezed, and our state policies have been reactive instead of proactive.
Given the massive influx of dollars available to Tennessee, we cannot afford to miss the opportunity to build the long-term vision of our state, an opportunity unlikely to present itself again.
Protecting Tennessee’s Public Schools
Ronnie Glynn is a strong defender of our public schools, students, and educators, standing firmly against efforts to privatize education through vouchers and charter schools that gamble with Tennesseans’ tax dollars and our children’s future.
He works every day to ensure educators are respected, supported, and empowered. In his first session, Ronnie filed 14 education-related bills, including HB975, which became law to protect the pensions of retired teachers. He continues to fight for the resources, salaries, and protections that allow educators to focus on preparing the next generation for success.
Veterans and Military Families
As a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Ronnie Glynn knows firsthand the challenges veterans face. In the legislature, he sponsored bills to improve staffing and services at veterans service offices, expand veterans’ access to job training and healthcare, and protect their rights. He’s also fought for property tax relief for disabled veterans and measures that make it easier for veterans and their families to thrive in Tennessee. Ronnie is committed to making sure active duty service people, veterans, and military families get the support and opportunities they’ve earned.
Public Safety
Ronnie Glynn believes our communities are safest when police are properly funded, well-trained, and supported, and when mental health resources are available to help handle situations appropriately. He also knows that preventing crime starts with investing in our youth – providing positive influences through strong after-school programs, mentorship, and activities. This commitment led Ronnie to champion bringing the Boys & Girls Club to Clarksville, which will open in 2025, giving kids a safe place to learn, grow, and thrive.
As a retired Master Sergeant, Ronnie received extensive training in the safe and responsible use of firearms and knows that weapons of war have no place in civilian hands. To protect our communities, he supports closing the gun-show loophole, expanding background checks, and passing common-sense gun legislation to keep firearms out of the hands of individuals who pose a danger to themselves or others.
Through a combination of strong law enforcement, youth programs, mental health support, and responsible gun policies, Ronnie is working to make Tennessee neighborhoods safer for everyone.
Protecting Voting Rights
As a proud American and veteran, Ronnie Glynn knows that the right to vote is fundamental to our democracy. Recent attacks on voting rights threaten that foundation, and Ronnie is committed to protecting access to the ballot for every eligible citizen.
He supports programs in middle and high schools to encourage the next generation to vote and prioritizes safeguarding our elections from foreign and domestic interference while ensuring the will of the people is honored. Ronnie’s career has been about defending democracy – first as a soldier and now as a legislator – and he will continue fighting against voter suppression to make sure every Tennessean can participate in shaping the future of our state..
